Jardin Exotique d’Èze: mini-explorers on the summit
Giant cacti, goddess sculptures and lookouts plunging toward the deep blue – the Exotic Garden is the first must-see stop. Admission is free for under-12s – a real family bonus – and the circular path offers plenty of shaded nooks for a snack break. Pack a pair of binoculars: kids love spotting yachts moored 400 m below.
Fragonard Perfumery Workshop: create your own eau de toilette (ages 8 +)
Head to the Fragonard Factory-Laboratory at the village entrance for a 20-minute mini-workshop where every participant blends a 10 ml bottle. Open to kids from eight accompanied by an adult, this activity is as fun as it is educational – a Riviera-scented souvenir. The factory tour itself is free, perfect for filling time if you arrive early.
Astrorama on the Col d’Èze: heads in the stars
At 650 m altitude, the Astrorama runs “Open-Sky” evenings with telescope views of planets and constellations, plus holiday courses and even astronomy-themed birthday parties. Recommended from about six years old (depending on the session), the programme turns science into adventure; bring a sweater even in summer as the Grande Corniche can be breezy.
Parc naturel & Fort de la Revère: walk, fun app and picnic
Set on the Grande Corniche plateau, this 700 ha Natura 2000 park is dotted with picnic tables, grassy spaces for running around and a digital trail, “Parc Explorers”. Download the free app before you go: geo-quizzes and photo challenges motivate 7- to 11-year-olds to hike nearly 5 km without even noticing. Stunning panoramas on clear days.
Èze-sur-Mer Beach: smooth pebbles and supervised swimming
Tucked into a sheltered cove, Èze-sur-Mer offers a gentle slope and a lifeguard station in high season. Public showers, two beach restaurants and a small car park make family logistics easy. The pebbles are rounded, but water shoes are still wise for sensitive feet; the turquoise water will quickly persuade young swimmers to spend the afternoon.
Nietzsche Path: sporty hike for motivated teens
This historic trail links Èze-sur-Mer train station to the hill-top village. Allow roughly 2 km for 400 m elevation gain: a steep climb best for teens and sporty parents (about 1 h 10 to 1 h 30). Younger kids can ride the bus downhill if legs give out. Carry plenty of water; the path faces due south.
Food break: four kid-friendly restaurants to try
Le Nid d’Aigle — panoramic and practical
Just before the Exotic Garden entrance, this bistro-terrace serves a stunning sea view, free colouring sets and a children’s menu at €13.50. High chairs available; the kitchen happily tweaks dishes for young palates.
Le Pinocchio — pizzas, pasta and all-day service
At the ramparts gate, Le Pinocchio is the all-day safe bet. Wood-fired pizzas, risottos and salads make up a varied menu, with prices reasonable for a tourist hotspot. Staff are famed for welcoming families, and there’s room for a pushchair.
L’Antre Potes — large shaded terraces
At the village foot, this air-conditioned spot offers three terraces, a €12 kids’ menu and free Wi-Fi (handy for teens). Continuous service 10 am–10 pm, evening delivery possible – ideal for flexibility after a long day out.
Anjuna Beach — boho vibe with feet in the sand
On Èze beach, Anjuna blends tropical furniture, chill music and Mediterranean cuisine. High chairs, shaded mattresses and sharing dishes suit small hands; reservations strongly advised in summer.
With dizzying viewpoints, creative workshops and tasty stop-offs, Èze and its surrounds reveal themselves as surprisingly kid friendly. Alternate cool heights in the morning (Exotic Garden, Fort de la Revère) with seaside fun in the afternoon (beach or Anjuna), then finish with a convivial dinner in one of the four selected restaurants. Enjoy your family stay!
